Automatic Fuse and Relay Assembly
AFRA is a fully automatic assembly line
How the automatic fuse and relay unit works
AFRA - Automatic assembly of screws, fuses and relays
AFRA (Automatic Fuse and Relay Assembly) is a complete and fully automatic assembly line for the assembly of screws, fuses and relays in fuse boxes already installed in the wiring harnesses. The number and arrangement of stations depends solely on the desired performance, as the stations are completely modular and can be arranged in any order or topology, operating in standalone mode if desired.
The complete, already packed wire harnesses are transported through the conveyor line by means of trolleys. Before entering the line, the operator scans a barcode identifying the harness and communicates with the central server to capture the insertion pattern. This associates the cart with the harness and the desired insertion pattern.
In this way, each harness moving along the line can have its own insertion pattern. After insertion into the line, the assembly and final inspection are fully automatic and without human intervention.
These are the available modules
The system has the following independent modules, which can be combined in a line or work in standalone mode:
- Screwing station, for screwing nuts according to VDI2862 category A standard;
- Fuse station, for inserting fuses at a rate of one every 2 seconds;
- Relay station, to insert relays at a rate of one every 2 seconds;
- Vision station, to check and confirm the assembly process;
- Carts to transport the packaged harnesses through the line;
- Conveyor to move the trolleys between the stations;
- Central station to control and monitor all stations and communicate with the plant's KSK server to retrieve insertion patterns.
